Try our special glycerine soap.It contains more glycerine than regular soap. Our glycerine soaps are soft and transparent.

Glycerin is known to draw moisture from the environment. It is also called a humectant.
Glycerin (glycerol) is simply found in nature. In the past, glycerine was extracted from animal fat and tallow and it was a by-product for making soap. Today, glycerine is also extracted from vegetable fats.
Glycerine is part of almost all oils and fats and is even a substance that occurs in the human body.Pure glycerin can dry out the skin. Since glycerin extracts moisture from the air, it will normally become saturated and act as a source of moisture for the skin.

Functions of Glycerin:
Restore the skin. Glycerin fills the small cracks in the skin. The cracks remain moist and therefore have a chance to recover.
In addition, glycerine is not irritating to dry and sensitive skin.Multi-Pack - an indispensable product.
Versatile: For body cleansing and hand hygiene.
Obtained by direct saponification of neutral oils with the Marseille method.

What you need to know about the TOG value

Is your child too hot or too cold? That is sometimes difficult to gauge. It is true that your newborn baby is not yet very good at regulating his or her body temperature. Then it is good to know that a little too cold is better than a little too warm! Fortunately, there are guidelines for tucking in your little one so that he/she will not get too hot or cold quickly. We will tell you more about this in this blog.

Common sense
You know how annoying a bed that is too warm is. You sweat and get stuffy. You throw the warm blanket or duvet away from you. Your baby cannot do this himself yet. So try to check from time to time how your child is doing. Does the head not feel too warm? Are the feet and neck too cold? Is your baby sweaty and clammy? Especially when the flu is involved, the heat must be able to go somewhere. Well, you can estimate for yourself how hot or cold it is in the room. And again: better a little too cold than too warm!Keep it cool
Research shows that babies can get stuffy in a bed that is too warm and too 'full'. The baby may roll on its stomach and have too little fresh air with its face against or under a pillow or duvet. And if the baby is wrapped too warm, the body temperature can rise unhealthily. Especially if you heat the bedroom yourself ... 18 degrees Celsius is warm enough!Still looking at TOG
Checking yourself and using common sense is the best method to let your child sleep safely. In addition, there is also a technical aid: the TOG value. This is a points system for the insulating quality of bed textiles. The colder the environment, the higher the TOG value may be. And vice versa: the warmer the bedroom, the less TOG you need. TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade and the TOG value indicates to what extent body heat is retained in, for example, sleeping bags, under blankets, swaddlers, and clothing, etc.The TOG value increases from 0 to 4 and only applies at room temperature. You may not use the TOG value for outdoors.

Temperature control guideline
Below is a diagram of the TOG value in relation to the ambient temperature.Room temperature / Total maximum TOG value

16-19 ° C à maintain a TOG value of approximately 2.5. The guideline for this is a diaper, romper, sleeping bag or blanket.

20-22 ° C à maintain a TOG value of approximately 2.0. The guideline for this is a diaper, romper/sheet and sleeping bag or blanket.

23-24 ° C maintain a TOG value of approximately 1.0. The guideline for this is a diaper and romper/sheet.

+24 ° C à maintain a TOG value of approximately 0.5. The guideline for this is only a diaper.

Note: TOG values may not be added together. This has to do with the insulating air layer that is in between two layers. This air layer always creates extra heat. Listen to your own feelings and use common sense.

Properties of cologne

DISINFECT WITH EAU DE COLOGNE

My grandmother used to have a bottle of cologne on the sink as standard.

Like so many people at the time, if only because most people only took a bath once a week. Such a cloud of perfume covered the less pleasant smells.

Odeklonje is also useful as a home remedy for wounds, mosquito bumps, red spots and small infections. You can easily disinfect with cologne. The alcohol in the liquid kills any bacteria and fungus.

Mark the sore or itchy area with a cotton swab, on which you have dripped some cologne. Only use each cotton swab for one spot to avoid contamination. Great stuff, cologne, which also smells better than iodine or any other disinfectant.

It is ideal for disinfecting the hands more often and is very refreshing.

Or to disinfect the skin after shaving.

Eau de cologne in water, dissolved alcohol.

Eau de cologne can also be used for cleaning.

It is not only disinfectant but also dissolves grease and dirt.

Effective, cheap to use, and affordable.

What if we told you that you only need two ingredients to clean most of your home? Yes it is baking soda and kitchen vinegar! How does cleaning with baking soda and kitchen vinegar work?

Cleaning vinegar is actually an indispensable product for a good household. Whether it concerns limescale removal, cleaning or odor elimination, cleaning vinegar is economical and belongs in every household cupboard. Below you will find a selection of the applications that occur in every household.
You can use cleaning vinegar to descale your appliances (including coffee maker, kettle). Dilute the cleaning vinegar with water, let it work overnight and then rinse with water. You can also descale your taps and the shower head with hot water and a dash of cleaning vinegar.
To understand why it helps to know how the reaction of baking soda and vinegar works. Baking soda also called sodium bicarbonate is a base and bases want a proton. Vinegar is an acid and acids have a proton they want to get rid of. The effervescent chemical reaction you see when you mix baking soda and vinegar is the exchange of those protons, producing carbon dioxide in the form of effervescent foam and leaving water behind. So what remains behind is essentially just water! So while the combination is potent, it's not something you can make ahead of time and store in a spray bottle. Is it dangerous to mix vinegar and baking soda?
Not at all. Mixing bleach and ammonia can release the toxic and sometimes fatal chloramine gas. Baking soda and vinegar are completely different. The reaction you get from mixing these two compounds causes the release of carbon dioxide gas, the same gas we exhale from our bodies. There is already a lot of carbon dioxide in the air. If you're concerned, make sure you use it in a well-ventilated area. It's almost hard to believe: by combining two seemingly mild products, you can do most of the tough jobs around your home. But the fact is, baking soda and vinegar is usually the only pair you need to clean your house. The secret is in how you apply the two. However, as long as you remember these recipes, you'll always have a powerful cleaning agent on hand for the dirtiest jobs.

Cleaning with baking soda and vinegar Stainless steel sink.

1. Freshen up a drain (and make a stainless steel sink shine).
Instead of using harsh chemicals that could potentially damage the pipes, you can unclog and freshen the drain by adding cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar. Always keep the ratio of one part baking soda to two parts vinegar. The mixture will fizz and bubble, leaving everything wonderfully clean again. Then rinse with very hot water for a few minutes and then let the cold water run for a while. While the surface is damp, take the opportunity to sprinkle additional baking soda into the basin of the sink and scrub well with a scrub brush or sponge. The slightly abrasive properties of baking soda help to remove stuck-on grime and stains.

2. Dissolve lime.

Stubborn limescale disappears like snow in the sun! Place a vinegar-soaked cloth or paper towel on the affected area and let it sit for a few hours. Remove the cloth, scrub with a baking soda paste (a mixture of dry baking soda and just enough water to create a paste-like consistency), spray lightly with vinegar and wipe clean.

3. Removing Stains in Carpet.

With these cleaners in your closet, you won't cringe if someone spills a little booze on your carpet. Make a paste with baking soda and a small amount of vinegar and dab it on the stained carpet with your fingers. Let the mixture rest and dry overnight, then vacuum up the residue. Before you try this tip on a large area, test it on a small, invisible piece of carpet. If everything looks clean, treat the rest of your stain.

4. Kill mold in your dishwasher.

The cleansing and deodorizing properties of baking soda and vinegar work wonders for your laundry. Add ½ cup of baking soda to your laundry detergent to increase its cleaning power. Adding a cup of vinegar during the rinse will help make everything shine.

5. Cleaning joints.

The abrasive properties of baking soda give more muscle to your own scrubbing work. Make a paste with baking soda and water, sand the joints with it and spray lightly with vinegar, then rinse thoroughly. Thanks to the effervescent effect, your joints will be beautifully clean again.

6. Get rid of gunk on pots and pans.

Dried food particles, caked-on grime and burnt food scraps can often be difficult to clean, but they're no match for this mighty bunch. Sprinkle baking soda on damp (not wet) pots and pans, spray with vinegar and then wipe with a scouring pad. The light foaming action will remove some of the tough dirt.

7.Boost detergent.

It may sound like a cliche, but adding half a cup of baking soda to your usual amount of liquid laundry detergent really does get a brighter wash. The baking soda also softens the water, so you actually use less detergent. Adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to your machines also increases bleach potency, so you only need half the usual amount of bleach.

8. Clean shower head.

If you live in a hard water area, it's nearly impossible to prevent limescale and minerals from appearing on your showerhead over time. It can even get clogged with the lime. But baking soda and vinegar can make it look like new!
Place your shower head in a large ziplock bag and pour in enough white vinegar to cover it. Seal the bag and leave it overnight. In the morning, remove the shower head and sprinkle some baking soda over the surface. As the shower head soaks, the vinegar breaks down the hard water and stubborn stains. Adding the baking soda at the end of the soak creates that effervescent chemical reaction, as mentioned above, to give a little extra strength. When the bubbles stop, use an old toothbrush to scrub the shower head well, then rinse it with warm water.9. Clean your toilet bowl.

Spray the inside of your toilet bowl with white vinegar until it is completely wet. Then sprinkle a fair amount of baking soda on the wet surface and spray a little more vinegar if necessary to start the reaction. Wait a minute or two and then scrub the toilet bowl thoroughly with a toilet brush.

10. Mold in the bathroom.

Everyone knows about mold spots in the bathroom on your sealant edges. You can buy expensive hard-wearing products such as HG, but these are really not nice to use if you can't ventilate properly. They have a very heavy smell, which immediately hits your breath. Make another paste of baking soda with a little water, scrub it well, spray cleaning vinegar on it, and let the substance do its work. Then rinse it off with clean water, and your sealant edges and joints are wonderfully clean and white again.

11. Clean the baked-on oven.

Everyone knows a dirty caked oven! Cannot be cleaned with steel wool, nor with a scouring pad. Again, this duo offers a solution. Sprinkle some baking soda on the baking tray, or make a paste of baking soda with water, and apply it to the walls with a sponge. spray with vinegar and let it soak overnight. If it is not completely gone, repeat it one more time on the remaining spots. Remove the leftovers with a kitchen roll, scrub the rest with clean water.
A Little History
In ancient times, the Egyptians used natron. Natron is a mineral composed of sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate. They obtained the natron from the evaporation of salt lakes and used it to rub the body as soap and to make ointments. Natron was also used to preserve mummies.
1791: Nicolas Leblanc, French chemist, first develops sodium bicarbonate as it exists today.
1846: Dr. Austin Church and his son-in-law John Dwight founded the Church and Dwight company near New York, which used the first industrial refining of sodium carbonate to obtain sodium bicarbonate from Trona.
1863: Ernest Solvay launches his first carbonate and then sodium bicarbonate plant in Belgium, using a new process that combines two natural mineral raw materials: geological salt (called rock salt) and calcium carbonate (chalk or limestone). This process is still the most used in the world and the only one used in Europe.

What is baking soda?
The sodium bicarbonate has the formula NaHCO 3. It is presented as a white powder. We can find it under different names such as sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate or sodium hydrogen carbonate in industrial pastries. It is also called Vichy salt because it is the main mineral in Vichy water.

The benefits of baking soda
• It does not cause allergies
• It is edible (baking soda only)
• It is non-toxic
• It is biodegradable
• It contains no preservative
• It is economicalHow to use baking soda?
You understand that bicarbonate is a versatile product and that makes it part of his interest. It is still necessary to have an idea of the different ways to use it. Baking soda can be used in 5 different ways: powder, paste, solution, spray and mixed.

Baking soda powder
This is what it looks like at first. In this case, it should be "sprinkled", that is, pour small amounts and distribute it as evenly as possible. Baking powder is used when a "contact" action must take place:
• To absorb odors (contact between the baking soda granules and the ambient air).
• To clean surfaces (it is often necessary to wet the support - sponge or cloth - to allow the baking soda to adhere).
• To combat allergens on mattresses, rugs, carpets.
• When mixed with other powders: for the preparation of pastries, in mixture with, for example, flour.

Baking soda paste
A paste is obtained by mixing approximately 3 volumes of bicarbonate and 1 volume of water. This leaves most of the grains present, but they remain connected by "saturated" water in which a small portion of the bicarbonate will be dissolved. It is the ideal form for "applying baking soda":
• On surfaces to be cleaned.
• On the skin (food grade bicarbonate).
• In fact in any situation where it is necessary to adhere the bicarbonate to a surface.
Here is an example of using baking soda in different forms: cleaning silverware without rubbing by diluting to start, then in powder or paste form with optional rubbing for finishing.
Baking Soda Solution
Dissolving baking soda in water is very simple. The warmer the water and the 'purer' the water, the greater the maximum amount of diluted bicarbonate. In theory, you can dilute up to 87 grams of bicarbonate per liter in completely pure water at 20 ° C (this is the theoretical solubility limit of bicarbonate). Since our tap water is generally very calcareous, in practice it can no longer be considered "pure" water and is generally distributed at a temperature between 10 and 15 ° C, and we can only dissolve forty or fifty grams bicarbonate per liter (about 3 tablespoons). It is largely sufficient for almost all applications of bicarbonate of soda in solution:
• In the kitchen (when diluted in milk, when cleaning or cooking vegetables, etc.)
• For all cleaning and soaking applications (e.g. laundry).
• But also for body care in the bath.

Baking soda spray
It is enough to dissolve the bicarbonate in the tank of a small sprayer (make sure that it did not contain any hazardous substance before). Spraying can be very practical!

Mixed baking soda
For example, the bicarbonate can be combined with vinegar (it will then react by "foaming"), with oil, with clay, with liquid soap. The areas of application then become almost endless.

The Properties of Baking Soda
Baking soda comes in three main grades: technical, food and pharmaceutical. Even if we find them under the same name as sodium bicarbonate (or baking soda), they have different purity criteria. Technical baking soda should only be used for household use. The soft drink is identified by the FCC code. It is the most versatile because it can be used for home maintenance and body care, for animals and also in the garden.Bicarbonate is available in different particle sizes (size of the granules of which it is composed): a very fine particle size (extra fine bicarbonate) is suitable for body care and for making your own cosmetics and deodorant, for example, while a large particle size (large baking soda) is more convenient for rubbing powder on a sponge or brush. There is also an intermediate particle size (fine particle size) that is the most versatile.

Recipe for dishwasher tablets

A recipe for homemade natural dishwasher detergent tablets. Why this homemade dishwasher detergent?

• All natural.

• Cuts through greasy and baked-on foods to clean dishes.

• Let my silverware shine and my glasses shine.

• No stains!

• Has the fresh, clear, refreshing scent of essential oils.

• Takes less than 5 minutes to make.

• Saves money over store-bought solutions.

What is used in homemade dishwasher detergent tablets?

Soda: This powerful cleaner raises the pH of the cleanse to break down food and grease, and softens the water to reduce stains, leaving your glasses and cutlery shiny and sparkling.

Salt – Hard water deposits can leave marks on your clean dishes; adding salt softens the water and reduces annoying spots.

Citric Acid - This versatile cleaner boosts the detergent to remove stuck-on foods, stops hard water deposits to keep them off your dishes, and aids in a smooth rinse at the end of the cycle.

Citrus Essential Oil - Thanks to the benefit of cutting through grease to get dishes clean, and leaving the clean dishwasher load smelling wonderful.

How do you make homemade natural dishwasher detergent tablets?

∙ Step 1: Add 1 cup of super washing soda to a glass bowl.
∙ Step 2: Add 1/4 cup of salt. Tip: No luxury, expensive salt is needed.
∙ Step 3: Add 1/2 cup of citric acid powder.
∙ Step 4: Add 40 drops of citrus essential oil, mix and use the back of a wooden spoon to remove any lumps. (use 40 drops of one oil flavor or use 40 drops total of any oil flavor combination) Citrus Essential Oil - Orange Essential Oil - Tangerine Essential Oil - Lemon Essential Oil - Grapefruit Essential Oil - Lime Essential Oil - Essential Oil oil of bergamot.
∙ Step 5: Squirt 2-3 tablespoons of water into the mixture, stirring as you add the water. Tip: Do not add the water too quickly, otherwise the soda and citric acid will fizz and react too strongly. The slower the better.
∙ Step 6: Once the mixture has the consistency of slightly damp sand, stop adding water. The mixture should clump together when you squeeze it, but fall apart when you drop it in the bowl. If it's too wet, don't worry, you can add more washing powder and dry it out. If it's not wet enough, spritz it with a little more water.
∙ Step 7: Spoon the mixture into a silicone mold. (See the one added in the picture.) It is the perfect size for both (1) the right amount of detergent and (2) fits perfectly in the detergent dispenser. Use the back of a wooden spoon and your fingers to press the mixture firmly into the silicone mold.
∙ Step 8: Let Them Dry And Cure Overnight. When they are completely dry, remove them from the silicone mold and place them in an airtight container.

Keep the following in mind:

∙ Dishwasher tablets made in large quantities may shatter because the liquid inside evaporates after a while. In such cases, you can continue to use the powdered tablets.
∙ You can handle or increase or decrease the amounts of the ingredient material at the same time.
∙ In addition, the Soda ingredient in the recipe also prevents blockages in the pipes of your dishwasher.
∙ To enhance the effect of the natural dishwashing tablet you are making, consider adding apple cider vinegar to the rinse aid compartment of your machine for cleaner and brighter dishes.

Organic cleaning products, environmentally friendly maintenance products, and cleaning products for a reasonable price.

Very gentle on the skin. Without dyes and synthetic perfumes. Mild gentle soap based on vegetable oil. Together at least 72%.

Economical in use. 1 handful of flakes in 5-10 liters of water.

Make your own detergent from Marseille soap flakes:
The detergent of the detergents is surely detergent made of white Marseille soap. Also known as Marsiglia. Marseille soap has a very special but neutral fragrance that lingers in your clothes for a long time and gives you an ultimate clean feeling when you take your Marseille clothes out of your closet or suitcase. It does not look like any other detergent in its distance. It smells very natural. And besides, it is also natural. It is
made from vegetable oils. Because it is completely biodegradable, the environment is of course spared with this.
Note, this is a recipe for 5 liters of detergent, so look for a wide-necked bottle, bucket, or container large enough for that. If possible, take a bucket with a lid.
Economical and very cheap wool detergent.
Take 5 liters of water and let it boil. Turn off the heat and add 80 - 90 grams of Clear or Lavender Marseille soap flakes. Stir well until dissolved. Put the mixture in wide-necked bottles. Once it has cooled completely you will see that it thickens. Use 60-100 ml in a dosing ball for a full washing machine. It is possible to keep the soap solution, shake it well before use. With this mixture, you can also polish natural stone floors, wash hands, etc.
Economical and very cheap white goods detergent.
Take 5 liters of water and bring it to a boil. Turn off the heat and add 80 - 90 grams of white Marseille soap flakes. Stir well until dissolved. Put the mixture in wide-necked bottles. Once it has cooled completely you will see that it thickens.
• Use this mixture to polish natural stone floors. Do not use soda that will leave marks.
• Use double the amount of regular detergent.
• It is a lot more environmentally friendly than most detergents and it is, of course, a nice bonus that it is also a lot cheaper.
Tip: Run your washing machine 1x per month (hot) without wax and add cleaning vinegar. This keeps your washing machine clean, lime, and grease-free.
• For maintenance of natural stone, ask you're stone supplier for advice.
• When using natural stone, never mix different products.

Storing the soap flakes.

∙ The soap can be kept for years. Do not store the soap flakes in plastic but in an open container/bucket or paper bags so that the soap can vent.
∙ Since we are dealing here with a handmade natural product, color differences can sometimes occur. This has to do with the freshness and the drying process of the soaps and soap flakes.

Marseille olive oil flakes and the original flakes require 140-150g flakes in 5 liters of water to make the detergent. That's more like what you use with the white flakes. You need less of this soap solution than of the white flakes because the solution is stronger. Use 60 ml in a dosing ball for a full washing machine. It is possible to keep the soap solution, shake well before use. The olive flakes and the white original flakes are less concentrated because they are cooked shorter.

Recipe for washing powder;

Take 80 grams of Dry Marseille soap flakes and mash or grind them into a fine powder
Add 150 grams of sodium bicarbonate
Add 80 grams of Citric Acid
Mix well and ready for 7 to 8 washing machines. Use 40 grams of this washing powder per machine wash. (2 tablespoons)For the white wax, you can also add fine soda or oxygen bleach. (Never add soda to the colored or delicates).
For the colored and white wax, you can also just add a tablespoon of kitchen salt or vinegar. Do not use baking soda when cleaning floors or else, this will leave stains. The soap flakes can be found here.

Savon de Marseille is a household name in France and throughout Europe. The recipe has not changed in more than 100 years and consists of purely natural ingredients. And the great thing is: you can make a lot of it yourself! We have rediscovered traditional soap for you.

There are only a few handmade soap kettles left in and around the southern French port city. It was almost as if the traditional soap from Marseille was in danger of extinction. But for several years now, beauty bloggers and zero-waste fans have been rediscovering them for themselves. The real Savon de Marseille consists of purely natural ingredients and requires almost no packaging material. In addition, you can do an incredible amount with the help of countless "grandma recipes".

1. Make Liquid Hand Soap
Liquid soap can easily be made from pieces of Marseille soap. To do this, dissolve the grated soap in hot water, add a tablespoon of glycerin (available in drugstores) and let it cool. Here you can find a number of recipes.2. Make laundry detergent
The same goes for laundry detergents: dissolve grated soap or ready-made flakes of white Marseille soap in hot water and add baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, and an essential oil for fragrance. Cheap and waste-avoiding! Other recipes add oxygen bleaching (from the supermarket or drugstore).3. Brush your teeth
Green Marseille soap (based on olive oil) is a very mild soap with which you not only wash your skin and hair, but also brush your teeth. Some swear by it because it is said to be good for the gums. Simply rub the soap bar with the toothbrush. With a few drops of peppermint oil it doesn't even taste like soap, but really nice and fresh. But fluoride is not in this "toothpaste".4. Remedies for Moths
Just put a bar of green Marseille soap in the cupboard to keep moths out. Moths cannot tolerate the smell of olive oil.5. Disinfectant
Dissolve a few tablespoons of grated Marseille soap in warm water together with household vinegar, and you have a natural cleaning agent that can be used to clean waxed tablecloths, toys and other waterproof surfaces. Works great and brings back childhood memories.6. Make shaving cream
If you dissolve grated Marseille soap in a little water and add a few spoons of coconut or almond oil, you get homemade shaving cream. The recipe can be found here .7. Relief from mosquito bites
Marseille soap works against itching and skin irritation: simply rub on a mosquito bite and let it dry.8. "Lubricate" stairs and drawers
Is the drawer difficult to open? Rub a dry bar of Marseille soap over the edges and gently slide out and back in. Do the wooden stairs creak? Put flakes of white Marseille soap in each crack and the problem is solved!Green and white soap
For the above recipes it is important to know the difference between the 2 types of real Savon de Marseille: there is a green variant that is made from at least 72% olive oil. This is the mildest soap that is also suitable for personal hygiene. The white soap, which has been made for centuries from a mixture of palm oil and other vegetable oils, is in turn more suitable for laundry and all household applications. Are you going to Marseille soon? A Museum du Savon de Marseille has opened in the old port. This is definitely worth a visit!

Make your own mouth water, a 100% natural recipe.

You've probably heard about the benefits of salt water or used it to treat a sore throat, gums, and even for pain relief after a dental procedure. A salt water mouth rinse is an easy and affordable home remedy used to ease oral discomfort, but what are the benefits of this home-made solution?

HISTORY OF SALT FOR MEDICINAL USE

Did you know that the medicinal use of salt dates back to 1600 B.C? The health benefits of salt have been recorded in some of the oldest medical scripts. It was believed that salt could dry out and disinfect wounds. Ancient Egyptian medicine prescribed anti-infective solutions, which had salt as a base ingredient. These were administered orally, applied as an ointment or suppository. Greek medicine also made us of salt by mixing it with honey to create a topical application to disinfect cuts and wounds.

HOW SALT INHIBITS DENTAL BACTERIA

Salt is a mineral composed primarily of sodium chloride (NaCl). Rinsing the mouth with a NaCl solution is an old remedy believed to promote healthy gums and encourage recovery from mouth ulcers. According to dentists may recommend adding a salt-based mouth rinse to your dental regimen to maintain good oral health. But how does rinsing your mouth with salt water help? When plaque interacts with high doses of sugar (from sugary foods and drinks), it creates acids that attack tooth enamel. Plaque build-up also contributes to gum disease. Study found that salt water effectively reduced plaque and as an adjunct to routine mechanical plaque control for the prevention of oral disease. Remember that brushing your teeth twice a day and cleaning between your teeth with dental floss or other interdental cleaners remains an important part of a healthy mouth and smile.

HEALING PROPERTIES OF SALT WATER

Your dentist may suggest that you rinse your mouth with salt water after tooth extraction. This is because salt water is known for its natural healing properties. The at-home remedy can also be used to ease discomfort from mouth sores while aiding the recovery process. Salt water speeds wound healing by reducing inflammation and bacteria in the mouth.

MAKING A SALT WATER MOUTH RINSE

Making a salt water-based mouthrinse is easy; all you need is salt and some warm water. Add a 1/2 teaspoon of salt to a cup of warm water. You can use this cost-effective rinse to:

∙ Soothe mouth troubles
∙ For pain relief after tooth extraction
∙ Reduce discomfort from a sore throat and tongue

Although there are benefits to using a salt water mouth rinse, it shouldn't replace your daily oral hygiene routine. Taking good care of your teeth starts with brushing twice a day and interdental cleaning. Doing this effectively removes plaque, bacteria, and food particles that can get stuck between the teeth. Before you use this at-home remedy, consult with your dentist to learn about how and when to use it.

Welcome to the wholesale site of Savon d'origine with the vegetable Marseille soap and soap flakes for retail. We import Marseille soap from Marseille / France of the very best quality and it is made especially for us.

The history of Marseille soap is historical. Because the Aleppo soap, which was made in Syria and was brought from there and imitated, a flourishing soap industry gradually emerged in Marseille in the 19th century. Called the Marseille soap.

Our soap is made by the last traditional company from Marseille which is still located in the city.

By 1900, hundreds of these companies were located in the city of Marseille. Now a few are located in Provence. This is largely due to the massive introduction of detergents with all the associated consequences for the environment. Nowadays people are slowly returning to this because of a more conscious approach to nature and many believe that much less harmful products should be used, such as Marseille soap flakes. This is 100% biodegradable and does not harm the environment.
Fortunately, the know-how and tradition of making real Marseille soap has been preserved. It was mainly the case that the secret family recipes were passed on from father to son.
The equipment used to manufacture our soap is antique and has been well preserved for all the steps required to manufacture the traditional soap. This soap is one of the few that can carry this designation.

I - The production process of the authentic soap.

The authentic Marseille soap is made in a kettle using a specific saponification process, called "Process Marseillais", in five steps:

1st step:

Creating the chemical reaction of saponification.

The vegetable oils are heated in a large kettle. of sodium hydroxide and heat, it gradually becomes soap.

Step 2: Brining

The soap is insoluble in salt water, adding sea salt pushes the excess sodium hydroxide to the bottom of the kettle and the soap rises to the top.Step 3: Boiling

This marks the saponification and makes a complete transformation of vegetable oils into soap.

Step 4: Washing

The soap paste is purified by washing, resulting in glycerol, impurities and unsaponified fatty acids being removed.

Step 5: final stage

A final wash with clean water ensures that the soap is ready. It has become a smooth, pure soap that has the reputation of Marseille soap.
This operation takes about a week and drying about 2 to 3 weeks.
Each kettle can make eight tons of soap paste© NA ten Hoeve 08\08\2008

5 things you should know about palm oil

Palm oil is the most popular vegetable oil in the world, and the cheapest to produce. It's used in thousands of products, from cookies to lipstick. Indonesia and Malaysia produce about 85 percent of the world's supply, using roughly 53,800 square miles – half the size of Oregon.

The cost: when produced unsustainably, the palm oil industry destroys vital habitats for increasingly endangered orangutans, tigers, Asian elephants, and sun bears.

Here are five things wildlife advocates need to know about the issue.

1. You likely consumed palm oil today without knowing itPalm oil is in an estimated half of all packaged food products sold in American grocery stores. It's in the majority of cosmetics. Most baby formulas, laundry detergents, chocolate bars, toothpaste, and shampoos contain palm oil. It can even be found in products as seemingly "additive-free" as cow's milk.

2. Ingredient labels won't always tell you which products contain palm oilAn ingredient may be derived from palm oil if it includes the word "palm" in it (with the exception of hearts of palm), such as palmate or palmitate. An ingredient may be derived from palm oil if it includes the words "lauryl," "laureth," the prefix "stear-," "vegetable oil," "glycerin" or "emulsifier." Hundreds of ingredients contains small amounts of palm oil and go by different names, which means many products contain palm oil even when it's not listed as an ingredient.

3. Boycotting palm oil won't save forests or wildlifeBoycotting is a legitimate expression of consumers' environmental concerns, but it's not likely to save wildlife or forests. If consumers boycott palm oil, companies could buy alternative oils that may require up to nine times as much land to produce. Meanwhile, palm oil growers would have even less incentive to produce responsible palm oil.

4. Responsibly produced palm oil does existIn order to clean up palm oil's environmental record, companies must 1) stop deforestation, 2) maximize crop yields on their existing plantations, 3) plant only on degraded land, and 4) allow wildlife to use the plantations without harassment. This is certified sustainable palm oil.

5. When consumers demand responsible palm oil, companies take actionSome companies have committed to using only deforestation-free palm oil. Others have done little or nothing to cut deforestation from their supply chains. Before you shop, do some research. Identify and buy products from companies that have committed to deforestation-free palm oil. Speak out to businesses that still don't.

What does sustainable palm oil mean?
What does RSPO certified sustainable palm oil mean? The answer is palm oil that is grown and certified against the 8 RSPO principles and criteria (with supporting indicators). These stringent sustainability criteria related to social, environmental, and economic good practice.

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Principles and Criteria for the Production of Sustainable Palm Oil (2013)The Principles and Criteria for the Production of Sustainable Palm Oil identify practices that are consistent with the sustainable production of palm oil. The document lists criteria and ways that palm oil farmers, millers, and auditors can identify compliance practices. The updated, 2013 edition is the result of a yearlong review to improve the relevance and effectiveness of the 2007 Principles and Criteria for the Production of Sustainable Palm Oil. Changes to the document include new criteria for reporting, documenting, and measuring GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions. The document is effective as of May 2013. The RSPO is committed to following the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

Goal: The RSPO aims to transform markets to make sustainable palm oil production the norm (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, 2012).

Does soap have a shelf life? Yes, but it's probably still effective.

Although soap has an expiration date, it can still be effective if it lathers and lathers during washing.
Soap does expire, but if it still foams when you wash your hands, it should be effective.
Most store-bought soaps expire after two to three years.
Natural or handmade soaps may expire sooner, within a year, because the essential oils and fragrances can become rancid or moldy. The best way to store soap is to keep it in a cool, dark and moisture-free place.
Most soaps are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which requires all medications to have an expiration date. That's why you see an expiration date on soaps.Although most manufactured brands last up to two years or more, some handmade soap makers recommend using their soap within a year of purchase. That's because the natural ingredients in some soaps can become rancid or moldy.

However, it is likely that your soap is still effective even after the expiration date. You need to know this.

Soap does expire, but is probably still effective.
Soaps are surfactants, which reduce the surface tension of water and make the molecules slippery, causing soap suds to bind, trap and release oil and grease - and the germs they contain. That's why bacteria and viruses physically slide off your hands when you wash with soap and water for 20 seconds.

Soap also helps kill germs because of the polar and non-polar ends in its molecular structure. The polar end helps the soap dissolve in water and the non-polar end helps remove the oil from your hands and down the sink. It is the non-polar end that disrupts the exterior of bacteria and viruses, causing them to burst and die.

Most manufactured soaps have an expiration date of two to three years. However, if soap still foams when you wash your hands then it can still be used effectively, even after its expiration date. It does not matter whether the soap is liquid or solid.

How to know when soap has expired?
Soap can expire if it is cracked, dry and doesn't lather, or if it doesn't smell the same way it did when you first bought it.Compared to manufactured products, soaps scented with essential oils and colored with natural botanicals may have a shorter shelf life due to the natural ingredients. These handmade, organic or natural soaps should still function like the store-bought soaps, but they may expire sooner.

Essential oils are "volatile," meaning they tend to evaporate when exposed to air. Soaps can lose their scent when the essential oils that provide those fresh scents evaporate. For some naturally scented soaps, we recommend using within three months of opening the box.

Another sign that soap is too old are orange spots. The orange color is because the oil in the soap becomes rancid. Although the soap is still technically safe to use, it will not smell very nice.

In general, as long as a bar of soap hasn't gone rancid, grown mold, or stopped foaming well, you should still be able to use it effectively after the expiration date.© NA ten Hoeve 08\08\2008

Soap is a passion and a livelihood. We would like to clear up some myths here and also inform you about the mysteries of soap!

What are the Different Components of Soap?Soap is a cleaning agent made by the interaction of oils and fats [acids] with an alkali [sodium hydroxide] to produce a solid bar. Oils and fats for soap are compounds of glycerin and natural fatty acids [in general, fatty acids refer to any compound derived from the breakdown of fats]. When oils are mixed with a base, they form glycerin and the sodium salts of the fatty acids. Therefore, in theory, all soap should have a natural glycerin content [although some major soap manufacturers remove this substance and sell it separately]. Many natural soaps have the glycerin content intact, this wonderful substance is a natural humectant and draws moisture from the air, leaving the skin soft and supple.

Many different oils, fats and butters are used in the manufacture of soaps that contain various beneficial fatty acids, for example

∙ Olive oil contains mainly oleic acid that produces small, mild and creamy bubbles.
∙ coconut oil contains almost 50% lauric acid which makes large, oily, open, airy bubbles and sunflower contains mainly linoleic acid which produces large, open conditioning bubbles. So the skill of the soap maker comes into practice with combining different oils and fats in the correct dilutions used to produce the best possible lather, but keeping the soap mild and gentle - leaving a wonderfully soothing feeling on the skin left behind [and not squeaky clean, tight and rough to the touch like some soaps].

Soap removes grease and dirt from the skin because some of its components are surfactants (surfactants). Surfactants have a molecular structure that acts as a connecting link between water and dirt. This releases dirt particles, stale make-up, grease, etc. from the skin. One end of the molecule is hydrophilic (attracted to water) and the other is hydrophobic (attracted to substances that are not soluble in water).

So soap is a very effective cleaner, but it is much more! Some ingredients you see on many popular soaps do not have any beneficial effect on the skin. They can even cause problems in many users, such as allergies, e.g. Perfume - you will see this on the list of most soap ingredients. This is a chemical fragrance that is a man-made cocktail of chemicals, simply an aroma that has no therapeutic properties and can be toxic and irritating to many skin types. In fact, more than 70% of women claim to suffer from sensitive skin at some point for various reasons.

Therefore, the most important thing about soaps is that they contain NO artificial chemical fragrances, only aromatherapy grade essential oils that have beneficial therapeutic properties for the skin. In fact, all essential oils have a mild antiseptic effect and many are corrective for various skin problems, especially when there is an imbalance, i.e. too dry or too oily. By using a generous, effective dilution of professionally blended essential oils in many products that not only smell wonderful, but also have a positive, therapeutic effect on the skin. You will see and feel a huge difference when you use natural, cold process soap compared to mass commercial products.

Soap for perfect beautyThese are the ingredients of a famous "soap" bar that, as it claims, is moisturizing.

∙ White Beauty Bar
∙ Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate - detergent.
∙ Stearic acid - wax.
∙ Coconut acid - coconut fatty acid.
∙ Sodium Tallowate - animal fat.
∙ Water.
∙ Sodium isethionate - detergent.
∙ Sodium stearate - a white powder derived from vegetable fat commonly used in soaps and cosmetics. It can also be used as a waterproofing and gelling agent. Sodium stearate is also often used as a cheap stabilizer in plastics. A possible allergen.
∙ Cocamidopropyl Betaine - detergent.
∙ Sodium Cocoate or Sodium Palm Kernelate - coconut or palm kernel oil.
∙ Fragrance - chemical aroma, a possible allergen.
∙ Sodium chloride - salt, used as a thickener.
∙ Tetrasodium etidronate - a chemical used as a water softener in soaps to prevent soap scum.
∙ Tetrasodium EDTA - a synthetic preservative that may be irritating to the
∙ eyes / mucous membranes.
∙ BHT - a solid, white crystalline antioxidant that can be toxic to the kidneys
∙ Titanium dioxide (CI 77891) - white dye.

But this is NOT natural soap, as you can see, it contains mainly chemical detergents, animal fat [yuk, who wants to wash with lard?], synthetic fragrances and preservatives.

Also, so many companies offer these types of soaps and call their soap natural, but of course it is not. The correctly formulated soap has a wonderful, abundant lather, there is no need to enhance the lather with chemicals.

These are the two common ingredients in these synthetic laundry detergent bars:

∙ Propylene glycol - a petrochemical
∙ Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Sodium Laureth Sulphate - aggressive cleaning agents

Or an example of natural soap ingredients:

∙ Extra virgin olive oil
∙ Virgin coconut oil
∙ Organic fair trade raw shea butter and cocoa butter
∙ sunflower oil
∙ Castor oil
∙ Spring water
∙ Essential oils of aromatherapy
∙ Fresh fruits and vegetables
∙ Organic botanical products
∙ Natural plant colors and clays

WHICH ONE WOULD YOU RATHER!?When oils are mixed with the alkali [also called lye], a process called saponification takes place. Oils are composed of fatty acids, as mentioned earlier, require a certain amount of alkali to saponify them, or turn them into soap. This is a crucial part of soap making and when formulated correctly and professionally, NO lye remains in the finished soap.

"Superfat" soaps. This means that there are oils or fats left in the soap that have not been converted by the lye to allow fat/oil to remain in its original form, so that it forms an invisible, protective and caring layer on the skin. The purpose of making the soap extra greasy is to give it this more "moisturizing" quality, making it gentler on the skin.

When reading the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) which is a legal requirement for all cosmetic products, it is difficult for the person who is not in this industry or who does not manufacture personal care products to understand the meaning of this labeling to understand.

It is a system devised for waxes, oils, pigments, chemicals and other ingredients of soaps, toiletries and cosmetics based on scientific and Latin names of ingredients, e.g.

When olive oil is saponified it is called:

∙ Sodium olivate.

When coconut oil is saponified it is called:

∙ Sodium cocoate.

When shea butter is saponified it is called:

∙ Sodium shea butterate.

When castor oil is saponified it is called:

∙ Sodium castorate or sodium ricinoleate.

When sunflower oil is saponified it is called:

∙ Sodium sunflower.

When palm oil is saponified it is called:

∙ Sodium palmate.

When animal fat is saponified it is called:

∙ Sodium talcate.

It is a fact.

Natural soaps not only smell wonderful, they are also very good for your skin. You will see a marked improvement in the quality and texture of your skin if you use a natural soap instead of its synthetic detergent counterpart.

A bar of soap under the sheets can solve a common problem

If these remedies work, they are the perfect alternative and I'm all for trying them. That's why I had to share the latest trick of placing a bar of soap under your covers for a common health problem that can affect one in ten people. It may sound a bit strange, but many people swear by it.
It has been hailed as something that works for many patients with restless leg syndrome (RLS), the disorder of a part of the nervous system that controls the urge to move our legs. It causes uncomfortable sensations in your legs that usually affect people's sleep. It can be a sign of an underlying disease, such as Parkinson's disease, kidney failure, and diabetes, which often include symptoms of RLS, and treating these conditions can provide relief from RLS. Some medications can also make symptoms worse, and even during pregnancy, some women can develop RLS symptoms.
Dr. Oz covered the natural remedy on his show and suggested that soap with certain oils was the best choice, especially lavender soap, which helps your body relax while you're trying to sleep.
There is no medical evidence that this actually works, but there is a suggestion that the symptoms of RLS may be caused by dehydration and low potassium levels. Most soap bars contain sodium chloride, which can be absorbed into the soap through the skin during sleep. While it may sound unbelievable, there are people who have tried it and praise its effectiveness.

Recipes for roses.

The benefits and uses of edible rose buds and edible rose petals.

Roses are flowers known worldwide. They are usually used as a symbol of love, giving, warmth and friendship. What many people don't know, however, is that roses are more than just a decorative item in homes. These beautiful flowers, which come in hundreds of varieties, can be used in many different situations. Moreover, they bring many benefits. All of these things are especially true for organic edible rose buds and edible rose petals.Prepare a Bath
According to some sources, a mixture of sea salt, Epsom salt, and organic rose petals is the perfect combination for a soothing bath. After a few minutes in the bath, you will notice that your skin is much softer. Many experts have confirmed that organic rose buds, organic rose petals and other parts of roses have a positive effect on the skin.

Make a Special Honey
Another thing people can do with edible rose buds and petals is to add them in honey. The best idea is to use honey with a mild taste. Leave the organic dried rose buds or petals for a few days and then strain the honey. Obviously you can use this honey in any way you want.

Prepare a Rose Tea
Again, people should mix edible rose buds and edible rose petals in their tea to get a rose tea with a perfect scent. Remember to use high quality tea.

Health benefits of making your own rose petal jam

Rose petal jam is one of the most delicious Ayurvedic preparations ever known. At the same time, the health benefits are undeniable.

Things you will need: wide mouth glass jar, rose petals (100 petals), granulated sugar.

Method:

Make sure the rose petals are clean and free of insects. Wash them well and dry them.
Arrange a layer of rose petals, cover it with a layer of granulated sugar. Keep alternating until the jar is full.
Close the lid tightly and store it in the sun for a maximum of 7 hours a day for about 4 weeks.
Stir every day with a wooden spoon.
After 4 weeks your jam will be ready and will have a jam-like consistency.Rose jam soothes hot flashes in the body that can cause heat, and keeps the body cool. It relieves heat-related symptoms such as lethargy, rashes, pain and reduces any burning sensations in the soles of the feet and palms.

Improves Memory and Vision: It also improves memory capacity. It is a powerful antioxidant that also helps improve vision over time.

Protection during summer: Take two teaspoons of rose jam before going out in the summer sun - it helps prevent heat stroke by cooling the body. It also prevents nosebleeds that occur due to excess heat in the body.

These are some ways you can use edible dried roses. They seem to be good for making tea, cooking and as a cosmetic. We've already mentioned some of the health benefits you can expect from roses, but we'll now explain the most important ones.

Fight infections
By consuming rose tea made from organic rose petals, you improve the production of bile in your liver. This way you get a natural cleansing of your gallbladder. In addition, rose tea can relieve sore throat and bronchial infections.Fighting Depression
The list of rose benefits continues with its ability to fight depression. Roses are loaded with flavonoids that have powerful antidepressant effects. Additionally, initial studies have shown that organic rose buds and organic rose petals may also have anti-seizure properties.

Moderate Constipation
Here's another example where rose tea can help. If you want to reduce constipation, you should use a tea based on rose petals, edible rose petals, edible rose buds, rose hips or a mixture of these parts. The tea can strengthen the immune system and support the digestive system by eliminating constipation. Constipation can accumulate toxins in the body that cause various health problems.

The list of benefits of edible dried roses is very long. From stabilizing blood pressure and lowering high cholesterol to helping people with gallbladder problems and urinary tract problems, roses have proven to be a natural remedy that provides quick results without side effects.

Remember to use high-quality dried rose petals and organic dried rose buds for best results. Such as that of the famous Rosa Damascena Mill roses from the Lake District of the north-west Mediterranean region of the city of Isparta, known for the glorious and magnificent rose fields of Turkey.

What if we told you that it only takes two ingredients to clean most of your home? Yes, it's baking soda and vinegar! How does cleaning with baking soda and vinegar work?

To understand why it is useful to know how the reaction of baking soda and vinegar works. Baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate) or baking powder is a base and bases want a proton. Vinegar is an acid and acids have a proton they want to get rid of. The fizzy chemical reaction you see when you mix baking soda and vinegar is the exchange of these protons, which creates carbon dioxide in the form of fizzy foam and leaves behind water. So what's left is essentially just water! While the combination is powerful, it's not something you can make ahead of time and store in a spray bottle.

Is it dangerous to mix vinegar and baking soda?
Not at all. Mixing bleach and ammonia can release toxic and sometimes fatal chloramine gas, baking soda and vinegar are completely different. The reaction you get by mixing these two compounds together causes the release of carbon dioxide gas, the same gas we breathe from our bodies. There is already a lot of carbon dioxide in the air. If you have any concerns, make sure you use it in a well-ventilated area. It's hard to believe: By combining two seemingly mild products, you can get most of the hard work done around the house. But the fact is that baking soda and vinegar are usually the only pair you need to keep your house clean. The secret is in how you use the two. But as long as you remember these recipes, you'll always have a powerful detergent on hand for the dirtiest jobs.

Clean with baking soda and vinegar.

1. Freshen up a drain (and make a stainless steel sink shine)

Instead of using harsh chemicals that can damage the pipes, you can clog and freshen the drain by adding a cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar. Always use the ratio of one part baking soda and two parts vinegar. The mixture bubbles and bubbles and leaves everything wonderfully clean. Then rinse with very hot water for a few minutes and then let the cold water run for a while.

While the surface is damp, take the opportunity to sprinkle additional baking soda into the bowl of the sink and scrub well with a brush or sponge. The mildly abrasive properties of baking soda help remove stubborn dirt and stains.

2. Dissolves limescale

Stubborn limescale disappears like snow in the sun! Place a cloth or paper towel soaked in vinegar on the affected area and let it sit for a few hours. Remove the cloth, scrub it with baking soda paste (a mixture of dry baking soda and just enough water to create a paste-like consistency), spray lightly with vinegar and wipe clean.

3. Remove stains from the carpet

With these cleaning products in your cupboard, you don't have to worry if someone spills a little alcohol on your carpet. Make a paste of baking soda and some vinegar and dab it on the stained carpet with your fingers. Let the mixture sit and dry overnight, then vacuum off the residue. Before you try this tip extensively, try it out on a small, invisible piece of carpet. If everything looks clean, treat the rest of your stain.

4. Kill mold in your dishwasher

The cleaning and deodorizing properties of baking soda and vinegar work wonders for your laundry. Add ½ cup of baking soda to your laundry detergent for more cleaning power. Adding a cup of vinegar while rinsing will make everything shine.

5. Clean the joints

The abrasive properties of baking soda add more muscle to your own scrubbing job. Make a paste of baking soda and water, use it to sand the grout and spray lightly with vinegar, then rinse thoroughly. Thanks to the shower effect, your joints are nice and clean again.

6. Remove dirt from pots and pans

Dried food scraps, caked-on dirt, and burnt food scraps are often difficult to clean up, but they're no match for this huge pile. Sprinkle baking soda on damp (not wet) pots and pans, sprinkle with vinegar and wipe with a scouring pad. The light foam effect removes some of the stubborn dirt.

7.Boost detergent

It may sound like a cliché, but adding half a cup of baking soda to your usual amount of liquid laundry detergent really lightens the load. The baking soda also softens the water, so you actually use less detergent. Adding half a cup of baking soda to your machines also increases the bleaching power, so you only need half the amount of bleach you normally use.

8. Clean the shower head

If you live in a hard water area, it is nearly impossible to prevent limescale and minerals from building up on your showerhead over time. It can even become clogged with the lime. But baking soda and vinegar can keep it looking like new overnight! Place your shower head in a large ziplock bag and pour in enough white vinegar to cover it. Close the bag and leave it overnight. In the morning, remove the shower head and sprinkle some baking soda over the surface. When the shower head is soaked, the vinegar breaks down hard water and stubborn stains. Adding the baking soda at the end of the soak creates the effervescent chemical reaction mentioned above to add a little extra power. When the bubbles stop.

9. Clean your toilet bowl

Spray the inside of your toilet bowl with white vinegar until it is completely wet. Then sprinkle a fair amount of baking soda on the wet surface and, if necessary, spray some more vinegar to get the reaction started. Wait a minute or two and then scrub the toilet bowl thoroughly with a toilet brush.

10. Mold in the bathroomEveryone knows mold stains in the bathroom on the edges of the sealant. You can buy expensive heavy products such as HG, but these are really not nice to use if you cannot ventilate properly. They have a very strong smell that immediately takes your breath away. Make another paste of baking soda with some water, scrub well, sprinkle with cleaning vinegar and let the substance do its work. Then rinse with clear water and your sealing edges and joints will be wonderfully clean and white again.

11. Clean the ovenEveryone knows a dirty stove! Cannot be cleaned with steel wool or a scouring pad. This duo also offers a solution here. Sprinkle some baking soda on the baking tray or make a paste of baking soda with water and apply it to the walls with a sponge. Sprinkle with vinegar and let soak overnight. If it is not completely gone, repeat again in the remaining areas. Remove residue with kitchen roll and scrub off residue with clean water. You can also clean the burners of your gas stove this way and they will shine like new again.

12. Polish silver and copperThere are several ways to remove tarnish and make silver shine. One method is to use a paste of one part water and three parts baking soda so that you have a paste. Use it to polish your copper and silver as you normally would. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth to a glossy shine.

13. Food and uses of vinegar and baking soda• Two tablespoons of kitchen vinegar mixed with half a liter of water is also effective in removing pesticides from fruits and vegetables.
• Baking soda makes omelettes fluffier when added to eggs. Just add half a teaspoon for every three eggs.
• Tenderize meat and kill bacteria by brining the meat in vinegar; Balsamic vinegar also gives a nice taste. Meat should be marinated in a quarter cup of vinegar and spices for up to 24 hours before cooking.
• Eggs can break when cooked. To keep them intact and make it easier to peel the eggs, add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar per liter of water.
• Don't waste any salad dressing or mayonnaise left in the bottom of the jar. Shake a few drops of vinegar into the jar to aid removal.
• Store cheese longer by wrapping it in a vinegar-soaked cloth or paper towel to prevent mold. Place the wrapped cheese in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator
• To get the lightest, streak-free colors when coloring Easter eggs, mix one teaspoon of vinegar with half a cup of hot water and food coloring.

Personal hygiene and health

• Baking soda can be used as a dry shampoo against dandruff. Instead of regular shampoo, massage baking soda onto your scalp.
• A weekly rinse with a cup of apple cider vinegar is another effective way to combat dandruff and also helps remove deposits and add shine.
• Soften hair and combat split ends by adding baking soda to the conditioner. Cover with a cap for up to 20 minutes before rinsing.
• Clean hairbrushes and combs with a teaspoon of baking soda and a little warm water. Rinse well.
• Soothe irritation from insect bites, including mosquito bites, by applying a paste of baking soda and water or dabbing with a cotton ball dipped in vinegar.
• Combat heartburn by drinking a combination of half a teaspoon of baking soda and half a cup of water.
• Enjoy an at-home spa treatment by taking a relaxing bath with half a cup of baking soda. Another option is to soak in a warm bath that uses half a cup of vinegar to soften and remove dead skin cells.
• Clean toothbrushes by soaking them overnight in a combination of a quarter cup of baking soda and a quarter cup of water.
• A 20-minute foot soak in one part vinegar and two parts warm water can help remove dead skin cells and soften your feet.
• Baking soda is a mild exfoliant for the skin. Combine three parts baking soda with one part water and then apply in a circular motion. Rinse well.Brushing your teeth weekly with a toothbrush dipped in vinegar can freshen breath and whiten teeth.
• Make the nail polish last longer by wiping your nails with vinegar before applying the color.

Pets

• Sprinkling baking soda around a pet's food bowl can deter pests.
• A layer of baking soda under the litter box can help reduce odors in the litter box.
• People can use baking soda to make toothpaste to brush their pet's teeth.
• Spraying dogs with white wine vinegar diluted with water can help repel fleas and make their coat shiny. © NA ten Hoeve 08\08\2008

Soaps, essential oils, allergens and allergies

The scented soap flakes contain less than 5% perfume. The soap products are gentle on the skin with an average pH in solution of (1%) 8-11

The purest form of the soap flakes are the white types and the olive soap flake, however, the latter is more suitable for people with eczema as it has a higher fat percentage.

Keep in mind that people can also be allergic to natural products. Since natural essential oil often contains allergens that are known to also cause allergies. Which allergen these are differs from person to person as people are differently hypersensitive to “a substance” or substances that are “foreign”, so their body then considers them dangerous.

All essential oils can cause a hypersensitive reaction. An essential oil can be considered as a foreign substance. Subsequently, the body will perceive the essential oil as an allergen.

It is therefore important that a skin test is carried out by the person with a high sensitivity to allergies before using essential oils. To do this, mix one or two diluted drops of the essential oil with vegetable oil (for example olive or sunflower oil) in a teaspoon. Apply the substance in the elbow cavity, then you only have to wait 24 hours. If a person is allergic, they will notice a skin irritation after 24 hours. This means that you are allergic to the essential oil.

Subsequently, it is important, when producing detergent for commercial purposes, to adhere to certain regulations of the Public Health Service, for use and dosage in order to protect health and the environment.

Here is a selection of the regulations;

The dosage must be indicated for detergents, depending on the degree of soiling of the laundry and the hardness of the water, and must be adapted to the weight of the amount of laundry (kg of laundry in your machine).

Labeling of the content

For detergents sold to the general public, the label must indicate:
• the enzymes, disinfectants, preservatives, optical blues and perfumes, if added, regardless of their concentration;• the surfactants and other substances that give the detergent its cleaning properties, see the added list of the cleaning agents, if they are added at a concentration> 0.2% by weight.

They are classified according to their concentration into the following categories:
- less than 5%,
- 5% or more, but less than 15%,
- 15% or more, but less than 30%;27 contact allergens if their concentration is> 0.01%.

Like all substances, from water to medicines, essential oils can sometimes cause allergic reactions.
Some essential oils are phototoxic, which means that they can cause skin pigmentation when applied to skin exposed to sunlight or UV light within 24 hours, eg tanning beds. This is especially true for citrus oils (and Bergamot oil), for example. Phototoxic reactions are also classified as allergic reactions or hypersensitivity reactions

Some components in essential oils therefore have an allergenic effect. Almost all essential oils naturally contain allergens: Chemical compounds that can cause an allergic reaction on the skin, examples of which are limonene, linalool and many others. Sometimes an essential oil consists almost exclusively of such allergy-causing substances. An allergic reaction usually manifests itself as a transient (skin) irritation, often already at a low dose. Unfortunately, an allergic reaction can never be completely ruled out, but sensible use of essential oil limits the risk. Furthermore, the amount (concentration) of allergen can vary per batch.

Below is a list of the best known compounds in essential oils that can cause allergies. Unfortunately, this list is far from complete. Only the compounds most likely to have an allergic reaction are included in the list.
An average essential oil can consist of dozens of compounds.

skin-friendly oils *

A large number of oils are particularly skin-friendly. In normal application, allergic reactions or irritations are extremely rare, but cannot be ruled out completely. Therefore, if in doubt, always test first. Some of these oils can even be applied pure to the skin for most people.

oils with phototoxic properties *

These are oils or essences that enhance the action of ultraviolet rays on the skin. For example, essential oils containing coumarins have a sensitizing effect, which means that these molecules can bind to the melanin cells of the skin. As a result, the melanin cells enhance the absorption of the ultraviolet light, which, depending on the skin type, can cause more or less severe burns. Coumarins are mainly contained in oils that are extracted by pressing.

It is recommended not to use Citrus oils on the skin and if so, not to exceed the dilutions below. Even when using these mixtures, the skin should not be exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun or solarium for 12 hours.

Tagetes tenuifolia Afrikaantje 0,05%

Several tests have shown that Orange, Citrus sinensis, and Mandarin, Citrus reticulata, do not have a phototoxic effect, this also applies to the distilled Lime, Citrus aurantifolia

oils suitable for children *

Only use the very best quality oils and neem oils that are fresh with children, depending on the type of oil max. 1 year old. Do not exceed the quantity indicated in the recipe and only use strong dilutions, maximum 1.5% in a base oil.

You can also use your nose as a tester, if the smell is just detectable, it is strong enough for the child because children have a much better sense of smell than adults. You can of course also let your child judge for themselves and try different oils or blends. Please note: the bottles do not belong in the hands of children. Honeybee Support

Billions of honey bees have been disappearing from hives across the World, a phenomenon scientists call Colony Collapse Disorder. Colony collapse is significant because many agricultural crops depend on pollination by bees. We rely on honey bees for one-third of our food supply, so when honey bees are in danger, we’re all in danger. From the flowers they pollinate to one-third of the delicious foods we eat, honey bees enrich all of our lives. Explore this section to learn how you can help support these airborne heroes.
We'd like to raise awareness of the impact of impulsive online purchases that are later returned as convenience returns. Every return creates additional transport and processing, which creates unnecessary costs and is harmful to the environment.

For small businesses like ours, this is more difficult to absorb, as each return carries a significant weight.

Therefore, we greatly appreciate it if you take the time to carefully consider whether the product is truly right for you when ordering. This way, we can help reduce waste, protect the environment, and keep our prices fair.

Thank you for your understanding and support!
